We’re privileged to be stewards of an amazing piece of land, so have decided to open our doors to share with guests, create unique memories, and pass on some of the skills we’ve learnt while living here. Explore the site to find out more and please reach out with any questions!
Alisha & Kevin
Alisha was born in Kansas, graduated from KU and did her MBA at UT Austin. After a career in logistics, strategy and marketing in corporate America, she now works in real estate. She has 2 children and shares 3 dogs and 3 loud ducks with Kevin.
Alisha and Kevin found The Blue Farm in 2019, fell in love with it, and spent 2 years renovating.
Now we are slowly trying to restore the land to native plants, grow & forage our food, and manage a challenging amount of forest.
Kevin was born in England and moved to the US full-time in 2015. He has 2 children. He graduated in Physics in London and his career was in marketing and strategy. He still does some consulting, but mainly he gets to use chainsaws so is very happy!
The Blue Farm is a private conservation easement overseen by The Land Conservancy of McHenry County. We are both active members of TLC and we host volunteer days and an annual seed share event at the farm. We’re both keen supporters of their cause and proud to introduce our guests to their work!
The Blue Farm is just outside Alden, Illinois, set in unspoilt rural farmland. We’re an hour north of O’Hare airport and a fairly painless drive from downtown Chicago.
Our nearest town, Harvard, is the last stop on the Metra Union Pacific Northwest line and it’s only about 80 minutes from OTC – we will happily pick guests up from the station which is just 10 minutes away.
The nearest good grocery store is in Walworth, about a 15 min drive away. Harvard has all the regular anities including a Wal
